After consultations with our existing customers and weeks of development we are releasing our completely new booking system.
Booking 2.0
The new booking system has a completely new design and user interface, as well as these new features:
Preferred date range is remembered for each visit back to the booking chart.Increased details on bookings including who created the booking, who has updated it and when these events occurred.
Any booking notes are displayed alongside the booking item when adding a new booking or showing details of an existing booking.
Booking history added to customer detail pages, so that all historic bookings for that customer can be seen.
Bookings can have a max occupancy set, which limits how many people should be allowed to be booked into that booking slot.
Completely new interface design.
Ability to group bookings by staff, item, item type or status.
Select date from calendar and then specify a date range from that point.
Booking warnings
Multiple customers can be added to a booking, and if this is exceeded it is allowed but the user will be warned of an overbooking.
User is also warned if a booking is attempted that would result in a booking item or staff member becoming double booked.
Payroll 2
Payroll has had some improvements to allow our customers greater flexibility in how they use it.
Clocking types can now be defined in the Back Office under the new 'Clocking types' page.
Each clocking type requires a name and a pay multiplier, the amount of base pay that the type grants. This allows you to set overtime rates for your staff.
A multiplier of 1 would mean 100% of the base pay for that staff member. Whereas a multiplier of 2.5 would grant 250% of the staff members pay rate.
A multiplier may be less than 1.
Clocking type filters have been added to reports and relevant 'Staff & Roles' pages.
Clocking type can be set when adding hours for a staff member within the back office under 'Add Hours' of the 'Hours' Page.
Notes have been added to Payroll to allow for notes to be applied to hours worked by staff members.
Notes can be added on the Back Office only and can be viewed on the 'Hours' page.
Promotion Changes
Promotions have been improved to allow for two new options, the ability to disable or enable a promotion and the ability to only allow promotion use on specified days of the week.
Enabling and disabling promotions
All current promotions will automatically be enabled.
To specify if a promotion is enabled or disabled you can do so by editing a product or specifying this option at product creation.
This allows you to create promotions in advance and disable them until needed without having to make them each time you want to use them.
Restricting promotions to specified days
All current promotions will automatically be assigned to all days of the week.
To specify the days of the week a promotion can be used, edit a product or create a new product and select the desired check boxes as shown below.
This makes it easy to have promotions for specific days and times. Friday afternoon happy hour for example.
Receipt note changes
A new option has been added to receipt info on the Back Office to allow control over whether notes get printed on receipts on not.
This option can be toggled under the 'Receipt information' section of the Back Office as highlighted in the picture below.
Notes will always be added to manually weighed products regardless of this option as it is a legal requirement.
Optimisations
From Thursday 5th of June we will be implementing advance page compression on all responses from our server. This will greatly reduce page load times and bandwidth requirements for our customers.
In our testing environments we have achieved reduced bandwidth of 70%, so for all our customers on slower internet connections you will have a very noticeable improvement in till and Back Office responsiveness and speed.
There will be downtime between 4 - 6am on Thursday 5th of June. If you operate during this time period.
