The Beehive

The Beehive Hair and Beauty Salon is an independent salon, that was recently established in London. The Beehive pride themselves on providing a luxury environment for relaxation and pampering, using only the highest quality products. The Beehive is constantly striving to bring their clients the latest luxury beauty treatments and they also sell a wide range of hair and beauty products so their customers can enjoy the salon experience at home.

The Beehive were looking for an EPoS system that would efficiently manage client information, appointments, stock and sales transactions. With a wide range of treatments on offer, as well as selling products, it was important that the new system was able to manage sales very effectively. Owner of The Beehive, Kate was also keen to introduce a loyalty scheme to encourage customer loyalty and repeat business, as the market she was entering is such a competitive one.

The Epos Now system was able to offer Kate everything she needed to start, run and grow her business. The client management facility allows Kate and her staff to add new customers every time they visit and the loyalty module allows every customer to have a branded loyalty card, which can be swiped to find them on the system instantly. Every purchase rewards the customer with points, which can be redeemed on future visits to receive discount on their next treatment. The system also allows past transactions to be saved under the customer details so if a customer wants to repurchase a product, then it is easy to identify what they need. It is also possible to see the last time a customer visited the salon and this information can be used to target past customers with marketing materials, such as promotions to encourage them to return.

The Epos Now booking system allows staff to add, edit or delete customer appointments easily and every staff member can see their appointment schedule at a glance.

The Beehive

The beauty of selling products that are used on clients in the salon is that customers can try before they buy, and enjoy the same quality of products in between salon treatments. It also provides an additional income for the salon, so it was vital for Kate that her stock management was accurate and efficient. The Epos Now system automatically notifies and raises purchase orders when stock is low. The detailed stock data also shows what products sell the highest quantities, what isn’t selling and product margins so she can make important stock-ordering decisions to maximise her profits.

The Beehive also purchased an iPad solution so Kate and her staff are able to take payments from anywhere in the salon without customers having to wait at reception and they can also access appointments. The cloud-based Back Office can be accessed from any device, so Kate can also check up on sales and stock from anywhere, which she loves.
