The awards programme aims to raise the profile of women in technology in East Anglia, creating role models to inspire the next generation to become developers, technicians, project managers, testers and digital experts.
“Sarah is a fantastic member of the team, always full of energy and ideas to improve the delivery of our features to benefit our customers. We’re in no doubt Sarah’s contribution helped Epos Now win the SaaS Award for ‘Best SaaS product for small business’ and I’m really rooting for her to win this award, as she certainly deserves some recognition for all her hard work!” Jeremy Glenn, Epos Now’s CTO
Sarah has been recognised in the ‘Agile Angel’ category, promoting the effective use and delivery of Agile project management. This style of working is characterised by the division of tasks into short phases of work and frequent reassessment and adaptation of plans.
Sarah, who was nominated by her colleagues, is essential to managing the needs and priorities of the entire Software Department and how these can best fit with the business as a whole. Sarah is constantly trying to improve the relationship between the Software Department and the rest of the business, believing a more joined-up approach improves the products and services available to our customers. Her commitment to the role and her passion for leading a growing team means she is an excellent deputy to the CTO, and in his absence takes on the additional responsibilities of his role in her stride.
“I’m absolutely thrilled to be shortlisted! A huge thank you to everyone in the software team for the nomination. I’m excited to attend the ceremony and meet so many inspiring ladies in the technology industry! Diversity within the sector is still a prominent issue, so I’m pleased events like this can open up valuable conversations to address this and inspire the next generation of female tech superstars!” Sarah Roberts, Epos Now's Product Owner
The awards were inspired by the team at Norwich based SyncDevelopHER, who run regular meet-ups hosting female role models speaking about their experiences in tech and encouraging more women to join their growing community.
